Marking the beginning of a transformative journey in skill-based education, the ISICO (Indian Skill Institute Cooperation) has officially launched its Skill Ecosystem Platform, aimed at driving socio-economic development across India.
The pilot phase has been initiated in Sivaganga District, Karaikudi (Education City), Tamil Nadu, with a focused mission to empower rural and semi-urban communities through structured, accessible, and industry-relevant skill development.
This initiative proudly emerges from the land associated with Alagappa Chettiar, a visionary philanthropist, educationist, and institution builder regarded as the pride of Karaikudi. ISICO ideologically aligns with his legacy of philanthropy-driven education, institution building, and societal upliftment, carrying forward this vision into a modern, scalable skill ecosystem.
The platform is designed as an integrated ecosystem connecting training institutions, industry partners, and learners, ensuring access to outcome-driven education. Through a sector-wise framework, ISICO aligns skill development with real-world employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
With a multidisciplinary learning approach, learners can progress from foundation-level education to advanced professional skills. The model leverages local infrastructure such as schools and community spaces, supported by hybrid learning methods, to ensure accessibility and inclusivity.
Through collaboration with training partners, CSR organizations, and industry stakeholders, ISICO aims to build a sustainable and scalable model for skill development.
Inspired by legacy, driven by purpose, and designed for impact — ISICO aims to redefine skill development from grassroots to professional excellence.
